Our cottage is located on Healey Lake, MacTier . It is water access only so bring your own boat or access the water taxi available if needed. Lakeshore Marina and Mariner's Cove are the two marinas located on the lake. Mariner's Cove offer boat launching as well as boat, pontoon, seadoo and water toy rental and water taxi. Lakeshore Marina only offers boat rental to take you to your oasis. Although the cottage is not accessible by car there is trail that passes through the back of the property. The trail is accessible by snowmobile, atv and side by side.


Family Ties Cottage is about 2hrs north of Toronto via Hwy #400. Just 10mins past the village of MacTier which provides a modern supermarket, LCBO, Home Hardware store and coffee shops. About 15mins to a popular pubstyle restaurant, 40kms south of the town Parry Sound for most all amenities, about 30km to Port Carling, cradled between Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau for interesting shops and restaurants. Looking on a map you will see that Healey Lake is located between Lake Joesph and Georgian Bay.

Our cottage will bring you within steps from fishing & hunting, miles of boating, water sports, hiking, tennis and relaxation. OFSC snowmobile trail and ATV trail access from the mainland make it an ideal destination for anyone looking for adventure. There's no shortage of fun to be had!


Located a short drive to MacTier, for your shopping needs. Outings could also include a visit to the nearby cranberry marsh at Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery, Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, artist studio tours, or a trip to quaint villages like Rosseau or Port Carling and Bala. Minutes away from great restaurants as well. Great golf courses close by, spa's, boat cruises, hiking and shopping are nearby. Every Tuesday there is a free waterski show in Bala. Entertainment also at The Kee in Bala as well as the Bala Bay Inn.


Great area for canoeing/kayaking - explore the lake- for overnight trip paddle approximately 10km to the end fo the lake, followed by a 14min portage to Georgian Bay and canoe another 5km to view the beautiful Moon River Falls(only accessible by water)
